Gathering Magazine: Advent/Christmas/Epiphany 2026-27

The theme for this issue is Topics We'd Rather Avoid.

Eschatology, predestination, the Book of Revelation, end times, Christ’s return, evangelism, money. Many of us have areas of theology or the Bible or Christian conversation that we would rather avoid. Some topics and scriptures may disturb us. Others may find there are aspects of theology that the United Church really does need to explore but that it now tends to avoid. In this issue, some of your colleagues share honestly about the topics and scripture they love to avoid or treat gently. We also include two worship services and a sermon series related to this whole theme.
